Happy Wheels -launching iOS app in future

Jim Bonacci and Jason Schymick, seeing the growing popularity of the game which was launched our years back and also the fact that the mobile game had almost reached a saturation level with its current version of 2D games, the duo decided to take up the challenge of converting a flash game into an iOS app and started work on it. In fact a trial version of this game was available at PAX East 2013. The trial version which consisted small amount of levels and a few of the popular flash version of characters such as Wheelchair Guy, Irresponsible Dad, Segway Guy, Effective Shopper, Lawnmower Man and Moped Couple was hugely popular and since then have been avidly waiting for the release of the iOS version whose release date was scheduled in the early 2014. However, the date was postponed thus breaking a few hearts.

However, if reports are to be believed, the wait is over and the iOS version of the game will hit the market very soon. In the iOS version, each character (6 at the beginning) would have their own chapter with 10-15 levels in each. Those playing the iOS version o the game would even be able to play the game offline, something which was not possible in the earlier browser version. Fancy Force, the adopted name of the makers of the game on Twitter, has recently commented "Trust me, I know. It's depressing. We'll be posting details about it soon." And also "This week or next we'll post info about Happy Wheels iOS." This tweet has started a fresh buzz amongst the followers of the game who were eagerly waiting for the release of the iOS version and were about to lose hope.

Although the build target of the iOS version is iOS 6, those waiting for the iOS version of the game would be glad to know that the iOS version would also be compatible with iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6+; iPod Touch 5th generation; iPad 2, 3, 4, Air and iPad Mini 1, 2. The makers however caution users who will try to install it in iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th generation as they will have to face issues such as a noticeable drop in framerate or the game getting extremely slow.

The makers of the game have said that although the iOS version would cost $2.99 on the App Store, for a few days after its release; users can get it at a discounted price of $1.99. They also have said that they might think about releasing a free version of the app with IAP (In-App Purchases) for the benefit of those fans that will not be able to purchase it.

So, keep your money ready and be prepared to play the iOS version any time soon.
